African Action Congress (AAC) presidential flagbearer Omoyele Sowore has leveled heavy political allegations against Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi, claiming he is subtly directing his loyalists to back African Democratic Congress (ADC) stalwart Atiku Abubakar.
According to reports from political circles, Sowore made these assertions through a public social media statement, pointing a critical finger at Obi’s tactical movements and his broader political alignment with Atiku.
The human rights campaigner and activist argued that Obi’s alleged underground push for Atiku stems from a shared opposition to what he terms a “revolutionary mandate” championed by his own camp. Sowore went a step further, asserting that the strategy is designed to position Obi for a high-profile role—specifically targeting the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) should Atiku secure victory in a future national election.
In his widely circulated statement, Sowore remarked: *”If you haven’t noticed, the packaged fraud, Mr. Peter Obi is secretly directing his supporters to work for @Atiku Abubakar because they are opposed to our revolutionary mandate. Obi is positioning himself to become Atiku’s SGF.”*
NDC Prepares for 2027 Campaign Launch

Meanwhile, shifting to developments within the opposition, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially announced plans to inaugurate its central presidential campaign council ahead of the upcoming 2027 general elections. The rollout is scheduled to take place on October 20.
The timeline was made public by the party’s National Chairman, Cleopas Zuwoghe, during a media briefing hosted in Abuja. Zuwoghe noted that while the architectural organogram for the campaign council has already been drawn up, leadership is closely collaborating with its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, alongside running mate Rabiu Kwankwaso.
According to the NDC leadership, this deliberate consultation aims to vet assignments carefully, block leaks, and prevent the onboarding of officials whose dual loyalties could jeopardize the party’s electoral objectives.
